I couldn't find an answer, so here is my question.

What is the correct part number for my bike? 17048-98 as shown in HD website, or 65324-83B, which is not exist anymore in HD website.
Even though, 65324-83b is still available at my local HD dealer.
As my search on HD web site for my bike, the part 17048-98 is the one, but my local dealer salesman told me it is 65324-83b.  ;D
Any info would be appreciated.

  • After getting some helps from folks in another forum, I've decided to buy a pair of Screaming eagle performance gaskets.
I have to say that it is PITA to disassemble, and reinstall the exhaust system.  It took me almost 1 hour to figure out how to remove the exhaust flanges.  If you have ever done this kind of work, then you will know how frustration I am, when the flanges are bent, and the two bolts are also spreading outward a little bit.
After about 4 hours, I was able to finish the work, and took a ride both in city limit and freeway.
WOW!  Talking about PERFORMANCE.  Even as a novice, I can tell a big difference in terms of power increasing during the acceleration.  And this is a new change that I think it is very important after the tune-up:  At 70 MPH, the RPM is around 2200 RPM, versus almost 3000 RPM at the same speed. before the tuneup.  Technically, this should increase the MPG.
I still have to do more running to see what the new MPG will be.
So far, I am very happy with the Power Package from Fuelmoto, especially their extraordinary technical support.
I will update more info soon. :)

  • I guess that what I have been very careful when picking, tapping the flanges to take them out.
So what did you do after you had a broken bolt?
That should piss me off big time! ;D

  • Damn!  That would be my two weeks of nightmare for me. ;D
I hope I don't have to do remove and re-install the exhaust so many time.  It is really a pain.
Yes, if it is the front top one, then you have to remove the the engine to get to it.
I wish they change  the design to hook and snap with just one bolt and nut, then it would be save a lot of "lives". :)
