  • Hoping I am doing this right. New to forums, My name is Kent Albert originally from Laramie, Wyoming. Been riding bikes my whole life, but finally saw the light and bought a 2013 V-rod. Served in the Air Force for 20, retired then became disabled with the VA. AF could have helped but did not. Oh well!! Winter has begun her in Wyoming and riding is about over but I am hoping to make a trip east from Wyoming, Vermont then south to Kansas, Texas, finally New Mexico and home. What I am wondering is any advice on what to take along on the trip. Tools are a given but any advice all you long highway experienced riders is welcome.  Ride safe and avoid evening deer in Wyo-land. Thanks

  • Welcome and congratulation on the new bike Kent!
I bet you will love the quickest and the only water-cooled engine from Harley.
About the trip, how long will you plan to ride? Camp, Hotel or both?
As you already answer your own question, "winter", for sure you want to have "very warm" riding clothes, full face helmet, warm gloves, and boots.
    Let us know.
I am sure many people in here will jump in to share some personal experience.
I am glad that you can ride, and that is a BIG PLUS! 8)
Take care and let us know what is your plan.

Congrat on the new bike Kent!
There are so many things that I want to do and bring with me on a long trip, personally.  Everyone has a different desire.  It depends on your health, but I will say that rest enough, and never push more than what your body can do.
    Enjoy the ride!
Remember to bring back many, many photos for your record and share with everyone. :handshake:
